Campus Protests Part of America’s Perennial Attempt to Balance Security and Speech

The Trump administration has begun to carry out deportations of foreign nationals who engaged in speech supportive of the Hamas terrorist organization. At UNC-Chapel Hill, students who engaged in such protests have already filed lawsuits arguing their actions were protected by the First Amendment. As these issues make their way through the courts, balancing free speech protections and security will be a point of contention.

The UNC Alumni Free Speech Alliance, Inc. is a North Carolina Corporation that has been granted designation as a nonprofit, 501(c)(3).

We rely on the contributions of our supporters for operational expenses; website upkeep; website/email domains maintenance; and most importantly, to raise funds to provide educational forums, events, and activities where our alumni, students, and friends may hear and be heard.
