Judge rules UNC does not have to release SCiLL report

“A coalition of six North Carolina media outlets, including The Daily Tar Heel, sued the University in April for the release of the 400-page, $1.2 million report. The coalition argued that its contents, having been paid for by the University using public funds, is public record as defined by the N.C. Public Records Law.

17 days after attorneys for both parties appeared in court, Orange County Superior Court Judge John M. Morris informed both sides in a memo that after privately reviewing the report’s content, he is granting UNC’s motion to have the case dismissed.”
