Higher Education Blinked. What Comes Next?

A broader shift in higher education is underway as universities respond to sustained political pressure from Republicans, including figures like Rep. Elise Stefanik and allies of President Donald Trump. Schools have made policy changes around DEI, free speech, and governance, but it remains unclear whether these reforms reflect lasting institutional change or temporary reactions to political scrutiny.

The UNC Alumni Free Speech Alliance, Inc. is a North Carolina Corporation that has been granted designation as a nonprofit, 501(c)(3).

We rely on the contributions of our supporters for operational expenses; website upkeep; website/email domains maintenance; and most importantly, to raise funds to provide educational forums, events, and activities where our alumni, students, and friends may hear and be heard.
